To keep pace with its continuing population growth, Toowoomba City Council has earmarked a number of areas to be developed further and Glenvale is one of these. Three years ago, in 2003 when the Toowoomba Planning Scheme was prepared, Toowoomba’s fast pace of growth was not anticipated so the majority of Glenvale was zoned rural. This is changing, however, with a Glenvale Structure Plan currently in the pipeline to manage future residential development in the suburb.
